About this piece
A 16cm Tibetan-style singing bowl with a Bodhi Tree Buddha engraved around its side. The metal glints in warm gold and bronze, and the carved lines are fine and detailed.
The Bodhi tree is where the Buddha is said to have reached enlightenment, making it a powerful emblem in Buddhist art. This engraved bowl suits a meditation practice and makes a considered gift for a friend with an altar. Singing bowls are used by people around the world to begin or end a quiet moment, and the sound is as soothing for the player as for anyone listening.
Rest the bowl on a cushion or your palm and circle the mallet around the rim to make it sing. Use it to open or close your meditation. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
