Crystal Ball on Stand – 50mm
About this piece
A 50mm crystal ball in clear optical glass, resting on its own crystal stand. It is still small enough to cup in one hand, but big enough that the reflections move properly when you tilt your head.
Scrying, or gazing into a clear surface to catch images, has a long history in folk magic, from polished mirrors to glass spheres. At around 245g this one is light enough to move about your home, yet it has the satisfying heft of a real object. It is a lovely birthday gift for someone curious about divination, or a gentle present for a friend who loves a witchy shelf.
Sit with it in low light, perhaps with a single candle (never leave a flame unattended), and let your gaze soften. Keep it out of direct sunlight, since a glass sphere can concentrate the light. Dust with a soft cloth.
