Lotus Flower Singing Bowl Set
About this piece
A brass singing bowl set decorated with a lotus flower, with a wooden mallet, ring pillow and carrying case all included. The bowl measures approx. 9 x 5cm and weighs 550g, a compact size that still sings with a warm tone around 659 Hz.
The lotus is a symbol of purity and rising above difficulty in Buddhist tradition, which suits an instrument made for calm. The set is a good starter for anyone new to singing bowls, since the ring pillow steadies the bowl and the case makes it easy to take along. Give it to a friend who is curious about meditation or wants a gentle ritual.
Rest the bowl on the pillow, tap the rim with the wooden end of the mallet for a bright note, or rub the padded end around the rim for a soft hum. It takes practice, and the reward is a sound that fills a room.
