Natural Bamboo Wind Chime – 12 Large Tubes
About this piece
Twelve long bamboo tubes, each 50cm, hang together in a generous natural-finish chime that fills the air with a deep, rolling, woody sound. It is the grandest of the bamboo chimes, and even a light breeze sets the tubes tumbling into a rich, layered chorus.
Handcrafted in Indonesia from sustainable bamboo, this impressive piece suits large gardens, porches and open terraces where a smaller chime would be lost. The sound is warm and earthy rather than sharp, and many people find that kind of natural music helps a space feel calmer. It makes a generous housewarming or retirement gift for someone who loves their garden.
Hang it from a sturdy beam, pergola or strong branch, since it is a substantial piece, and leave plenty of room around it. At 130cm tall, it works best outdoors or in a high-ceilinged porch. Sit nearby on a still evening, wait for the breeze, and enjoy the slow roll of sound.
