About this piece
A heart-shaped bowl carved from selenite, 10cm across, with a pearly white glow and silky banding. It is shaped like a little dish for treasures and glows softly in the light.
Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, and its milky, silky glow looks lunar in any light. In folklore it is linked with clarity, calm and a feeling of fresh air in a room. Bowls like this are traditionally used to rest other crystals, jewellery or small offerings. A lovely gift for someone who collects crystals, or a pretty housewarming piece.
Place it on a shelf or altar and rest crystals, rings or tiny trinkets in it. Selenite is a soft mineral, so keep it dry and away from water, and dust it gently with a dry cloth.
