Spirit of the Wolf Tunable Shaman Drum & Stick – 40cm
About this piece
The Spirit of the Wolf Shaman Drum is a handcrafted 40cm drum with a wide, resonant face that gives a deep, rolling, heartbeat sound. The tunable skin lets you tighten for a brighter tone or ease off for a lower one, and the beater has a wolf carved into its handle.
Wolf is traditionally linked with instinct, intuition and inner strength, and a drum is one of the oldest ways of marking a ritual. Handcrafted with natural materials, every drum carries its own markings and textures, so no two are quite alike. It makes a meaningful gift for someone drawn to shamanic journeying, drumming circles, meditation or sound baths.
Hold the drum in one hand or rest it in your lap and strike the centre with the carved beater in a steady rhythm. A slow beat of around one strike per second is a good start for a journey or meditation. Adjust the tension to find the tone that feels right.
