About this piece
Rainbow-coloured leaves of Capiz shell hang from a piece of driftwood in this large leaf chime, bright and playful against the soft grey of the wood. It is hand made by small family businesses in Bali, using beach-sourced materials.
Capiz is a shell that makes a pleasant clicking sound as it moves in the wind, and the colour here gives a happy lift to a plain wall or corner. Many people believe wind chimes protect surroundings from negative energy, so it makes a cheerful gift for a new home, a nursery or a child's room.
Hang it indoors or on a sheltered porch, where the breeze can move the leaves but rain cannot reach them. The larger leaves give it a slightly deeper, fuller clatter than the smaller design.
