What is orgonite?

Orgonite is a handmade mixture of resin, metal shavings and crystals, usually set into a shape such as a pyramid, cone, dome or wand. The idea comes from the twentieth-century theories of Wilhelm Reich, and many people keep a piece as a decorative object or as part of their meditation space. It is a spiritual and decorative item rather than a scientific one.

How to choose orgonite

Start with the shape. Pyramids, such as the 7 sided Pyramid with a Gemstone Wisdom Tree, are striking display pieces. Cones are tall and slim, like the Selenite and Black Tourmaline Copper cone. Desk Power Packs in Amethyst Dome, Lapis Dome and Multi Stone Dome are compact enough for a workspace.

Then look at the crystal inside. Amethyst is traditionally linked with calm, lapis with clarity and truth, green aventurine with luck, and black tourmaline with protection. Sizes are given in millimetres, so check them against the space you have.

Where to place orgonite

Many people place a piece on a desk, a windowsill, a bedside table or a home altar. Because it is made with resin, keep it away from heat and strong sun, and dust it with a soft, dry cloth.

If you like orgonite, you might enjoy our points, towers and obelisks or crystal trees. Our focus and clarity collection has desk-friendly ideas too.

Questions and answers

What is orgonite made from?

Orgonite is usually made from resin, metal shavings and crystals, set together by hand in a mould. The metals and crystals vary by design, so check each product description for the stones used.

Does orgonite really work?

Orgonite belongs to spiritual and folk belief rather than science, and we do not claim any effect. Many people simply enjoy its look and the ritual of keeping one on their desk or altar.

How do I look after orgonite?

Dust it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of strong sun and heat, which can affect the resin. Avoid soaking it in water, and store it where it will not be knocked.
