Raw crystals & specimens
Raw crystals and mineral specimens keep their wild, natural form. Browse Himalayan quartz pieces, chipstone gemstone dome gardens and yoga gardens, and crystal water bottles filled with clear quartz, tiger's eye and rose quartz chips.
What are raw crystals?
Raw crystals are stones left in their natural state, not polished or shaped. Their rough surfaces, uneven points and natural markings show the stone as it came from the earth. Many collectors love them for their honest, untamed beauty, and they sit well alongside polished pieces.
How to choose raw crystals and specimens
Mineral Specimens, such as the Himalayan Quartz Crystal Pieces, are best for collecting, display or crystal grids. Each is slightly different, so choose what you love. If you want something miniature and creative, the Gemstone Dome Gardens, with 30 chipstones in amethyst, green aventurine, pyrite, rose quartz or seven chakra colours, are charming desk companions, with the chipstones arranged as a tiny garden. The larger Gemstone Yoga Gardens, with 100 chipstones, show a yoga pose in miniature, from Namaste to Padmasana, under a tilted tree.
The Crystal Infused Glass Water Bottles, with Clear Quartz, Tiger's Eye, Red Jasper or Rose Quartz chips, are made to carry stones with you every day. Check the care guidance for each bottle and stone.
Caring for raw stones
Rough surfaces can be sharp or fragile, so handle them gently and dust with a soft brush. Many people cleanse raw pieces in moonlight or with smoke, and keep them in a dish or on a shelf.
If you prefer a smoother feel, our tumble stones are polished and pocket-sized. You could also browse clusters and geodes, or read about each stone in our crystal meanings guide.
Questions and answers
What is the difference between raw and tumbled crystals?
Raw crystals are left in their natural, rough form, while tumbled crystals have been polished smooth. Raw stones show the stone as found, and tumbled stones are comfortable to hold and carry.
What are gemstone dome gardens?
They are miniature gardens made with chipstones, such as amethyst or rose quartz, in a small decorative scene. They make charming decorative pieces for a desk or shelf, and a thoughtful gift.
Can I put crystals in my drinking water?
Some stones can be harmful or break down in water, so please be careful. Our crystal-infused bottles are made to hold the stones safely. For loose stones, check the type before using it near water.
