About the Love Reading spread

Love is the question people bring to tarot more than any other, and this spread is made for it. The first card looks at you: what you are feeling and bringing to love right now. The second looks at the other heart, whether that is a partner, a crush or, if you are single, the kind of love drawing closer. The third card sits between them and shows what connects you.

A love reading works best as a gentle mirror. The cards cannot tell you what another person is thinking, but they can help you see your own feelings more clearly, notice patterns and decide what you would like to nurture.

The three positions of the love spread

  1. Your heartWhat you are bringing to love right now: your feelings, hopes and the way you are showing up.
  2. The other heartThe other person, or for single readers the kind of love drawing near, offered as reflection rather than mind reading.
  3. What connects youThe heart of the bond itself, what it needs and where it may grow if you tend it.

How to read it

Hold your question in mind, press Shuffle the deck and choose 3 cards by instinct. Each card turns over in its place with its traditional meaning, followed by a written reading that draws the cards together. You can also try the Card of the Day and Past, Present, Future and the Celtic Cross and Yes or No spreads, or browse all 78 tarot card meanings.

If you would like to learn to read for yourself, start with our guides to reading tarot for beginners, five simple tarot spreads and tarot versus oracle cards, then find a deck of your own among our tarot decks.

Love Reading: questions and answers

How does a free love tarot reading work?

You draw three cards: your heart, the other heart and what connects you. Each card is shown in its place with its meaning, followed by a written reading that draws the three together.

Can I do a love reading if I am single?

Yes. Read the second card as the kind of love you are drawn to or that may be coming closer, and the third as what you would like to build. Many single readers find it very clarifying.

Can tarot tell me what someone else feels?

No reading can know another person's mind. Tarot is best used to reflect on your own feelings and the patterns in a relationship, and honest conversation is always the clearest answer.

Which tarot cards are best for love?

The Lovers, the Two of Cups, the Ten of Cups, the Ace of Cups and The Empress are among the warmest love cards, but every card has something useful to say about the heart.

Is this tarot reading really free?

Yes, completely. There is no charge, no sign-up, no email address and no account. Choose a spread, shuffle, pick your cards and your reading appears on the page.

Do I need to sign up or give my email?

No. You can draw as many readings as you like without creating an account or leaving any details. We do not save your question or your cards.

Who writes the written reading?

The written reading is generated by AI from the traditional meaning of each card in its position and the question you asked. The card meanings beside your spread were written by us for this deck.

Can tarot predict the future?

We see tarot as a mirror for reflection rather than a way to predict fixed events. The cards offer a fresh way to look at a situation, and the choices remain yours.

Is tarot a substitute for professional advice?

No. Tarot is for reflection and enjoyment. For questions about health, money, legal matters or your safety, please speak to a qualified professional.
