About the Yes or No spread

A yes or no tarot reading is the quickest way to bring the cards to a single question. You draw one card, and the card's traditional character gives the answer its lean: bright, open cards such as The Sun or the Ace of Cups lean towards yes, while cards of delay, conflict or endings lean towards no.

Some cards sit in between. A maybe is not a non-answer; it usually means the outcome depends on something still unsettled, often a choice that is yours to make. Every answer here comes with the reason behind it, so you can see what the card is asking you to notice, rather than just a verdict.

Yes or No: questions and answers

How does a yes or no tarot reading work?

You ask one clear question and draw a single card. Each card traditionally leans towards yes, no or maybe, based on its meaning. We show the lean, the reason behind it and a short written reading.

Which tarot cards mean yes?

Cards that traditionally lean yes include The Sun, The Star, The World, Ace of Cups, Ten of Cups, Nine of Cups, Ten of Pentacles and Six of Wands. They share a sense of openness, success or things coming together.

Which tarot cards mean no?

Cards that traditionally lean no include The Tower, Three of Swords, Ten of Swords, Five of Cups, Nine of Swords, Five of Pentacles, Ten of Wands and The Devil. They usually point to delay, conflict, loss or something that needs to change first.

What does a maybe mean in a yes or no reading?

A maybe means the answer is still forming. The card often points to the thing that will decide it, such as a choice you have not made yet, more information or simply more time.

What makes a good yes or no question?

Keep it to one clear question about something within your own life, such as "Is now a good time to start my course?" Avoid questions about other people's private choices, health or legal matters.

Is this tarot reading really free?

Yes, completely. There is no charge, no sign-up, no email address and no account. Choose a spread, shuffle, pick your cards and your reading appears on the page.

Do I need to sign up or give my email?

No. You can draw as many readings as you like without creating an account or leaving any details. We do not save your question or your cards.

Who writes the written reading?

The written reading is generated by AI from the traditional meaning of each card in its position and the question you asked. The card meanings beside your spread were written by us for this deck.

Can tarot predict the future?

We see tarot as a mirror for reflection rather than a way to predict fixed events. The cards offer a fresh way to look at a situation, and the choices remain yours.

Is tarot a substitute for professional advice?

No. Tarot is for reflection and enjoyment. For questions about health, money, legal matters or your safety, please speak to a qualified professional.
