Symbolism in the Hedge Magic deck
Our Sun shows a joyful child riding a white pony through a field of tall sunflowers, beneath a large radiant sun. The child represents innocence, play and the freedom to be fully yourself, while the white pony suggests purity and trust. Sunflowers turn to follow the sun, a symbol of loyalty, optimism and growth towards the light. The banner the child holds celebrates victory and joy. The garden wall behind marks what has been left behind, and warm golden light fills everything with clarity and happiness.
The Sun in love and relationships
In love, The Sun is wonderfully positive. For single people, it suggests confidence, warmth and a time when you feel attractive and at ease, which naturally draws others in. For couples, it points to happiness, openness and enjoying each other's company. It can reflect a relationship that feels light, playful and secure. It encourages you to share your joy and to be honest about how much you care.
The Sun in work and money
At work, The Sun suggests success, recognition and confidence. It can reflect a project going well, your efforts being noticed or a sense that you are in the right place. It favours openness, enthusiasm and showing your talents with pride. It is also a reminder to enjoy your achievements rather than rushing past them. With money, it reflects a positive, optimistic outlook rather than any guaranteed result.
The Sun reversed
Reversed, The Sun traditionally suggests that joy is temporarily clouded: delays, low confidence or difficulty seeing the bright side. It can also point to over-optimism. Even reversed, many readers see it as a mild card, with the sun still shining behind the clouds. Our free reading keeps cards upright, though many readers include reversals. If this resonates, look for small, simple pleasures to lift the mood.
