Guohua Picture Stone – Disc, 100mm
About this piece
A smooth 100mm disc of pale limestone, its surface traced with fine, branching patterns that look like misty trees or distant hills. Every design on this Guohua picture stone is entirely natural, created by the earth itself.
These stones come from the ancient limestone formations of Guangxi Province in China, where manganese dendrites spread through iron-rich stone over immense spans of time. The compact disc shape makes it easy to display and a fascinating conversation piece. It is a lovely gift for a collector, a geology lover or anyone with an eye for natural art.
Place it on a desk, coffee table or small stand, or include it in a display of minerals and curiosities. Look closely and see what scenes appear. As each stone is one of a kind, pattern and appearance will vary.
